Exterior Measurements: 32 1/2" L x 18" W x 22" H at the highest point. The interior of wood has been cleaned thoroughly, then treated with four (4) coats of Tung Oil including the partitioned tray. All metal covering and trim, both steel and tin have been cleaned with all rust removed. Trunks nails have been replaced where necessary to tighten parts. The new custom leather lid lift is a replacement as well as new custom leather wide handles, 8 1/2" x 1 1/4". The lid stay is the original used for safety when the lid is in the up or open position. The original four wheels are intact on the trunk bottom and was painted with a premium satin black wood paint including the hardwood slats. The bottom appeared was painted black originally. As seen in the photos the tin covering has been painted with a modest hammer finish, rust proofing metal paint; copper in the center section, black on the outer sections and all other trim. SPECIFIC NOTES AND DETAILS (The following is not to scare you off but to best describe any flaws and eliminate surprises) PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:
1.) This trunk has some dents, modest on the front, sides and top, with a more serious denting on the back. In some cases a picture may show a "wave" in the tin cover which is not an actual dent. The rear trunk denting actually shows up more vividly in the photo than in room light. Examine the pictures according and don't be afraid to ask questions via email. We're here to help you.
2.) The right hasp/latch lever is slightly loose but does work fine and are the originals.
3.) The original lock is not in working order and has no key.
We do not use varnish, polyurethane or similar finishes as these were not used during the period when these trunks were manufactured. We only paint metal when the finish has gone bad with time, doesn't polish up naturally through cleaning or was painted originally. We use an anti-rust, modest hammered-finish paint where necessary on metal and first rate wood paint in cases where wood needs a paint application such as on a trunk bottom.
We want you to enjoy your trunk and attempt to keep in as original as possible without adding feature that did not exist when the trunk was manufactured.
