Independence Hall was constructed between 1732 and 1756 in brick of Georgian style. Located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, it was originally known as the Pennsylvania State House and was also used by the second Continental Congress.

Thomas Jefferson wrote the draft of the Declaration of Independence in this building. On July 4, 1774, members of the Congress met and signed the document. The United States Constitution was written here in 1787.
