Liberty Blue Coaster 4" Diameter Fraunces Tavern. Ironstone Original Copper Engraving of Historical Scenes. Made In England. Very Good Condition, Chip and Crack Free. Built in 1719, Fraunces Tavern was located in New York on the corner of Pearl and Broad Streets. The Continental Army quietly disbanded in 1783, with small groups of men going off in different directions for home. Washington wanted to have a special time to say goodbye to all of his fellow officers. This private celebration took place at Fraunces Tavern. Afterward, Washington headed south, encountering more celebrations all along the way. Today, the building that housed Fraunces Tavern is owned by the New York Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. On the upper floors are their offices and a museum with displays about George Washington and the American Revolution. The tavern itself is now leased and operated by a private individual.
